We left Thursday morning for our trip down south for my second cousin, Liz's wedding. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro, NC which was about 60 minutes away from the location of the wedding in Danville, VA.
Katie really liked our stay at the Embassy Suites in Cleveland so we thought why not stay there again in North Carolina.
We split the drive between Jim and myself and it made time go by faster. We got into Greensboro after a 7.5 hour drive. The girls did great in the van. They were occupied with the DVDs of Space Buddies and Veggie Tales. During my break from driving, I reacquainted myself with Saturday Night Fever and True Blood.
Friday morning we went to the Children's Science Center. It combined the elements of a museum, science center, and zoo. The temperature was a bit on the high side, 96 degrees, for my taste but the girls had a great time seeing red wolves, tortoises, crocodiles, and lemurs to name a few of the animals outside.
Saturday morning we decided to take advantage of the indoor pool only to have a nasty storm strike outside. We were in the pool when the power went out and we were told for our safety, please leave. There was no power in our hotel room and quickly thought of an idea. We would use Katie and Felicity's flashlights while they got a bath. Fortunately the power came back on when Jim was in the shower and we could get ready for the wedding.
We arrived at the church at 3pm for pictures and Katie gave a very sour look when she put on the dress. Her sour look continued when my cousin Dolly, pulled her hair up with a beautiful clip. Everyone told Katie she looked extremely pretty and this soured Katie even more.
The wedding was beautiful and Katie did a great job. She even fooled Felicity with her dress and pretty hair. Katie gave Jim a high five on the way up the aisle. We didn't stay very long for the reception since the girls were pretty tired.
We left North Carolina the next day and we know we will be back. We had such a great time in below the Mason Dixon line and look forward to our return.

And the beer at the brewery was fantastic for the price. The ostrich burger. . .not so much!
