Interesting Week

This week was supposed to be our vacation. Well it was for a day.

We left for Hershey on Tuesday morning. When we stopped at a rest stop for lunch, Katie lost hers. She felt warm and we gave her a dose of Tylenol. She ended looking, feeling, and acting better and we went out to eat. She really did a great job eating her cheese, grapes, and macaroni and cheese. I know, why would I give this child who just chunked 6 hours earlier a big dinner?

When we got back to the hotel, Katie and Felicity were completely wound up. We honestly didn't think they were going to sleep that night but they did settle down at 9:30.

The next morning around 5am, Katie woke up crying and complaining. She threw up again and we tried a piece of dry toast. This came up while everyone else at the hotel were enjoying their continental breakfasts. After thinking it over, we decided to pack up and head home.

Poor Katie cried in the car how she wanted waffles at the park. Their were waffles at the hotel and we were supposed to go to Dutch Wonderland that day. It broke our hearts but we weren't sure what she had and didn't want to prolong her discomfort.

When we got home, she pretty much was lying around and did take a long nap in her bed. She never voluntarily goes to her bed unless she is sick.

The next day, Thursday, she was fine. She was up her usual time like nothing happened. We thought it would be fun to go to the zoo since we purchased a family pass. The girls enjoyed seeing the two new baby elephants, eating fries with cheese, and seeing the aquarium. While in the aquarium, it started storming. We waited inside but figured it would continue. We ran to the car but we were completly soaked. Doesn't it figure when we got to the car, it stopped.

Friday brought an unexpected call to Poison Control. Felicity is known for putting everything into her mouth. My husband noticed she had something in her mouth but wasn't expecting a half dissolved pill in her mouth. We thought it was one of Murphey's pills: synthroid or phenobarbital. This wasn't one of his pills because it had a gold band. It was one of my father's pills, Celebrex. My dad watches Murphey when we go on vacation so he was at our house Tuesday/Wednesday.

The woman at Poison Control told us to keep an eye on Felicity and give her food and fluids. Thank God she was fine and we have made sure the floors are swept everyday.

We received good news yesterday. Myhusband got his NET (Nursing Entrance Test) results and he passed at a high percentage. He has anatomy and physiology 2 this term, microbiology in the spring, then he will start his clinical work fall 2009.
